The editorial splitting of the view types into "range factories" and "range adaptors" happened after the initial authoring of P1035, and it went unnoticed when we merged all of P1035's views into "range adaptors" that one of them - istream_view - adapts no underlying range. istream_view is in fact a "range factory" in the sense that it manufactures a range of elements from non-range sources.
