draft/source/locales.tex

Lines 1837 to 1841 in 3974bc1

\tcode{codecvt<internT, externT, stateT>}
is for use when
converting from one character encoding to another, such as from wide characters
to multibyte characters or between wide character encodings such as
Unicode and EUC.

This makes little sense, Unicode being a character set rather than an encoding.
The wording probably meant UTF-8 or UTF-16

But the text sounds like "wide character encoding" is considered different from "multibyte characters". So, we should probably talk about UTF-32 and EUC.
